HOW TO CALCULATE THE COST OF A BUILDING THERMAL INSULATION COATING

The thermal insulation coating

When we receive a quotation for a thermal insulation coating, it is very important to keep in mind certain aspects to avoid unpleasant surprises on the final bill of expenses.

The thermal insulation coating is a system that involves applying insulating materials on the facades of houses. Normally these materials have thicknesses that, depending on the climate zone, can vary from 7-8 centimeters thick to 15-18 centimeters for colder areas.

The thickness is the real problem of the thermal coating: even with a few centimeters, it becomes necessary to make a series of structural interventions that weigh heavily on the final cost. In particular, it will be necessary to remake and lengthen the window sills, modify the roof battens (especially the rainwater), redo any hooks for shutters, balcony balustrades and other interventions.

The cost items

The cost of a thermal insulation coating is therefore made up of the following items:

– Cost of insulation material (panels to be applied to the walls)

– Labour cost (understood as the application of panels and shaving over the same panels)

– Color finish cost (normally the civil plaster)

– Structural works cost (window sills, balusters, pluvial etc.)

– Cost of scaffolding and installation and disinstallation of the construction site

– Cost of any work to prepare the wall surface if it is not perfectly suitable for laying the thermal insulation coating

It is therefore important to check that the quotation contain all these cost items.

The micro coating Manti Ceramic

It is only in the case of the low thickness microcoat (such as the Manti Ceramic) that all structural work becomes unnecessary and therefore at no cost. The thickness of a few millimeters, in fact, guarantees, for this type of thermal coat, to be able to save on these cost items and also on labor, which becomes much faster. All these savings make up for the higher material cost of this heat coat. As a high-tech material, it is logical that it costs more than polystyrene or mineral wool.
